Our Values

  • All children are created in God's image and deserve the blessing of good health.
  • Parents are responsible for making sure their children grow up healthy.
  • When parents cannot obtain health coverage for their children at work, the government should help them find coverage they can afford
  • Every child should have a regular pediatrician or family doctor and should be able to obtain preventive treatment so they can grow up to be healthy and productive citizens
  • No child should go without treatment or rely on an emergency room for health care
  • Faith communities have the right and responsibility to demand that government act to protect the health and welfare of all children
  • Covering all children will take congregations, local communities, states and the federal government working together
  • The best way to reach the finish line in covering all children is to build on reliable, cost effective programs like SCHIP and Medicaid that have worked so successfully to expand coverage over the past decade.

PICO is work on children's health because we want all parents to be able to raise healthy children, which includes having access to affordable health coverage.
